Hachshara
Hachshara means preparation – for more than 80 years, Hachshara has played a part in preparing, shaping, and training the future leaders of Bnei Akiva and Jewish communities in Israel and around the world. Here in BAUK our Hachsharot participants have been a huge part of the foundational future of our Tnua and Anglo Jewry.
Hachshara is a vital component in your Bnei Akiva Journey- no matter if it is the middle of your journey or right at the very start! This is a time you can devote to learning Jewish texts, developing independence, and exploring your identity. Bnei Akiva inspires and empowers young Jews with a sense of commitment to the Jewish people, the land of Israel and the Torah.

Bnei Akiva gratefully appreciates the generous support of the Danielle and Michael Gross Bursaries provided through UJIA.
TORANI
Torani is designed to enhance and compliment a year of learning in Midrasha or Yeshiva. When you’re not in Yeshiva or Midrasha, we’ll provide a variety of programmes to let you live and feel the pulse of the Land of Israel.
We are your family in Israel. You’ll be more independent than you’ve ever been in your life, yet you can relax in the knowledge that your needs are being looked after. From welcoming you at Ben Gurion airport and taking you to your Yeshiva or Midrasha, to arranging Shabbat hospitality for you whenever you need, you can always rely on us to be there for you.
Torani gives you a head start on your Bnei Akiva journey. The aim of the year is to build a love and commitment to Torah and Yirat Hashem, whilst at the same time providing tools of leadership, hadracha training and hasbara knowladge. The goal of the year is to infuse the participants’ passion for contributing to their personal future and the future of Am Yisrael.
KADIMA
The Kadima (formerly Kivun) programme is a life-changing, integrated gap year experience.
The programme has been designed to facilitate the personal and religious growth of participants through diverse and challenging experiences, giving an authentic encounter with Israel.
Kadima is based in Jerusalem, however the programme will take you the length and breadth of the country. You’ll spend time on kibbutz, volunteer in the north and experience the Israeli workplace through a work experience programme. You’ll have a choice between an army experience or volunteering with MDA, and you’ll have high- quality Jewish and Israel education running throughout the year, from text study to touring and with a large focus on practical and active learning. Kadima is a powerful, immersive experience like no other.
MECHINA OLAMIT
The Mechina Olamit is a challenging, intensive, and highly rewarding leadership program in Israel that develops skills for life.
Operating in a religious Zionist, co-ed environment, Jewish high school graduates from around the world join with their Israeli counterparts for a truly transformative year in Israel. Guided by a strong team of dedicated staff, participants experience an incredible process of learning, self-empowerment, and growth, preparing them for the army, university and leadership roles in their communal and professional lives well into the future.
Living in Migdal Oz, just 30 min from Jerusalem, and learning with Israelis on the program, our participants will immerse themselves in experiential Torah learning, deepening knowledge of Jewish Peoplehood, community involvement, leadership, Hasbara, discovering Israel, fitness, navigation skills, training, and more! Throughout the program, participants build friendships and connections with Jews from around the world, that last for life!
